NUC Accreditation Achieved for Embedded AI Master’s Program

We are delighted to announce that our five Nigerian partner universities have successfully obtained accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the Embedded AI Master’s program. This achievement marks a significant milestone in advancing AI education and research in Nigeria, ensuring that the program meets the highest academic and institutional standards.

The accreditation process involved rigorous evaluation, including curriculum assessment, faculty qualifications, infrastructure readiness, and compliance with NUC regulations. With this recognition, the Embedded AI Master’s program is now officially approved, providing students with a cutting-edge education in AI and embedded systems.

This accomplishment reflects the dedication and hard work of our Nigerian partners in strengthening AI education and fostering innovation. We extend our sincere congratulations to all involved for their outstanding efforts in making this possible.

Delivery of Equipment and Laboratories Setup

The establishment of Embedded AI laboratories required a meticulously planned procurement strategy to ensure that partner universities received equipment tailored to their specific needs. The tendering process played a critical role in selecting suitable vendors through competitive bidding, ensuring cost-effectiveness, adherence to institutional standards, and compliance with procurement regulations.

After procurement, the delivery of equipment and the subsequent setup of laboratories followed a standardized procedure. Each component was documented in the university’s inventory system, and institutional inventory management stickers were applied for traceability and accountability.

The procurement process for the EU Erasmus Embedded AI Equipment encompassed the following key phases:

  • Pre-tendering Phase
  • Publication and Advertisement
  • Bid Submission and Opening
  • Evaluation of Bids
  • Contract Finalization
  • Delivery and Equipment Registration
  • Laboratory Setup

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to UPH and Prof. Omijeh for their excellent leadership in managing this critical process.

Embedded Systems Training at University of Siegen

The training is planned for 5 days from 10th July -14th July 2023. The training conducted at USI will merge two important events: Training and Workshop in Germany (Embedded Systems) and Training and workshop in Austria (Artificial Intelligence).

This task will conduct training and workshops for the teaching staff of the partner universities to obtain the knowledge required for developing embedded systems. This work package dubs the theme of its training Embedded Systems, corresponding to the focus of the training. The tasks expect an outcome where the partner needs are fulfilled by aligning the training to each partner institution's application domain/focal field. The hands-on aspect of the training and workshop is planned to last three days. The training's hands-on part will be carried out by Siegen (USI). This workshop will also include traning on Artificial Intelligence, which includes the application of Aritificial Intellegince models on FPGAs.

In addition to the teaching staff of the partner institutions, project students from the program institution (USI) will also be involved in the training by demonstrating several applications and concepts in the embedded systems field. This task aims at 40 participants.
NITDA TO PARTNER WITH CITE!
